FESTIVAL OF GERMAN FILMS AGAIN IN UKRAINE

FESTIVAL OF GERMAN FILMS AGAIN IN UKRAINE
On 17 September the annual festival of "New German cinema" is returning to Ukraine, it will be held in major cities during the month

Last year, the project created some buzz among moviegoers and became one of the biggest cinema events ever held in Ukraine. Besides the main program, which included festival hits of last season,  there was demonstrated a program of documentary films, a collection of high budget television pictures and a collection of short films. The festival also held a series of master classes for students of Ukrainian educational institutions specializing in cinema, a Forum jointly with German and Ukrainian producers and other programs.

This year, the structure of the project will remain the same: different directions of cinema to be presented in the  program; to maintain the spirit of the festival, like last year, following each film there will be coffee breaks and discussions with film directors and other guests of the festival.

In the main program - the best films of Germany, among them: "Im Winter ein Jahr" from "Oscar" winner Caroline Link; "Palermo Shooting" by Wim Wenders (nominated for "Golden Palm"), "Nuit de Chien," Werner Schroeter (nominated for "Golden Lion", "Special Jury Prize" for the contribution to the art  of cinema at the Venice Film Festival) and other pictures.

Main special project of  this year's festival is the retrospective of Alexander Kluge, the founder and ideologist of the new wave of German cinema.

This year the festival organizers are the Investment Financial Group "TAS", German Embassy in Ukraine, the Goethe Institute and the company "Arthouse Traffic".
